Lodge News!!!

On March 5th, 2011 the Annual Rathbone Bible Class was held in Elloree South Carolina. Four new Knights were initiated: Joe Granger, Andre Jimenez, Karl Kinard and Shane O'Kelly. Of special note is that Andre Jimenez was the FIRST member of the Stingrays Chapter #25 (Junior Order) in Charleston SC to become a Knight! In attendance were most of the Grand Lodge officers, the two Supreme Lodge Representatives for South Carolina (Sir Bruce H. Brown and Sir Kenneth Bickley), the Deputy Supreme Chancellor for South Carolina (Bernard J. McNulty) and the Supreme Outer Guard (Sir Bruce H. Brown).

On March 3rd, 2011, members and officers of the Stingrays Chapter #25 (Junior Order) dedicated the Gerald Gutkin Memorial in the Lodge room of Stonewall-Jasper Lodge in Charleston SC. The memorial contains mementos and articles from the life of Gerald Gutkin who was the first Team Captain of the chapter and helped get the chapter organized died one day after the chapter was officially chartered. Brother Gutkin was a second generation Knight and DOKK and the memorial also contains his farther's fez which he wore proudly at DOKK meetings.

On January 8th, 2011 the Annual Joint Installation was held for Stonewall-Jasper Lodge #6, Elizabeth temple #2, Sinbad temple #96 and Stingrays Chapter #25. Click here for additional photos.

On August 19th, 2010 Supreme Outer Guard Sir Bruce H. Brown presented the 2010 Supreme Chancellor's Certificate of Honor to 4 members of the Stingrays Chapter #25 on behalf of outgoing Supreme Chancellor Dan Cowan. Receiving the award were: Scribe David Glanville, Regent David Rudd, Marshall Alvizar Santiago and Sergz Santiago. The award was given in recognition of their service to the community. The four young men are among only 7 Pythians in the Domain of South Carolina and the first Junior Pythians to receive the award. The previous recipients in South Carolina were: Garland Harman of Myrtle Lodge #3, Patrick Labbe of Stonewall-Jasper #6 and Wayne Smith of Myrtle Lodge #3.

The Charleston Pythian Family, Stonewall-Jasper Lodge #6, Sinbad Temple #96( DOKK), Elizabeth Temple #2 (Pythian Sisters) and Stingrays Chapter #25 (Junior Order) sponsored an annual float in the 2010 North Charleston (SC) Christmas Parade on December 4th and the 2010 Charleston Christmas Parade on December 5th.
